Detail
This section addresses the currents, groups, and figures opposing and critical of the Islamic Republic of Iran, both inside and outside the country. The Iranian opposition spans a broad and heterogeneous spectrum — from monarchists and secular republicans to reformists, leftists, ethnic nationalists, and groups such as the Mojahedin-e Khalq (MEK). These currents differ greatly in outlook, method, and degree of influence, and this section presents them and their place in Iranian politics neutrally.
